Course Mapping & Development
When developing content for online coursework, it is important to have that content laid out in a clear and comprehensible manner. Course maps allow the user to visually understand how the content will be presented.
It is important to first choose a LMS that is appropriate for the intended content.  I have worked with a variety of Learning Management Systems in order to better understand their capabilities and intuitive accesibility. Some of the systems that I have explored more in depth include:
Canvas     Blackboard     Desire2Learn     OrgSync     Schoology     Moodle
Below is an example of a course map that I developed for a Schoology based class on Metamorphosis. The map clearly outlines the subject matter for the course in a recognizable flow of information. The learning objectives for the course are listed next to the module that corresponds with the content that will help the learners meet each objective.

As you can see below, the modules are color coordinated to match their corresponding assignment folder in the Learning Management System (LMS).

The image below highlights the content of Module 4:  Metamorphosis.  In this particular module the learners are able to click on an interactive review of the various life stages that take place during metamorphosis.  They are also able to interact with other learners through discussion boards.  As you can see the learners are also prompted to submit a research assignment and complete a final quiz directly through the online learning platform.
The course analytics feature of this LMS help to determine whether or not learners are getting the most out of the information presented to them. The analytics help to determine the quality of instruction as well as the quality of assessments. This is a vital component of quality education.
